Who was Alfie Gant?

GantSara has an interview with Torina Gant, the mother of a man shot and killed by police after he pointed an unloaded gun at them this weekend. (The officers, of course, didn't know the gun was empty. The department says their response followed KCPD policy.) The incident occurred after a pursuit.

Gant -- whose full name was Alfran -- sounds like a really troubled soul, either way. He hadn't seen his mother since October, and he'd had a stay at Western Missouri for "temper tantrums" and the risk of suicide. He was 26.
