Sobriety checkpoint planned in Merriam

This just in:

Merriam police, with help from Johnson County Sheriff's deputies, will conduct a sobriety checkpoint starting late Friday evening and extending into early Saturday morning. The exact location of the checkpoint is not disclosed in advance.

Drivers suspected of being intoxicated will be given sobriety tests, and those confirmed to be impaired will be arrested. Efforts will be made not to severely interrupt the flow of traffic.
