Listed below are links to weblogs that reference They're everywhere, they're everywhere! KCPD runs 3 DUI lanes in 1 night:

It sounds like the locations they chose weren't that great. Any traffic coming off 435 is a crapshoot.

Accurate Headline:

"163 CITIZENS STOPPED WITHOUT PROBABLE CAUSE IN POST-CONSTITUTIONAL AMERICA!"

All to arrest 3 persons who weren't drunk enough for their driving to be the basis for any stop. Oh, and to get Fed overtime money.

Ridiculous first and second paragraphs there. Probable cause isn't needed.

Because they were arrested from a checkpoint doesn't mean that their driving wouldn't have warranted a stop away from the checkpoint.

And it wasn't "all" to arrest three people. It was to arrest any number of people IF they were driving while intoxicated. It just so happened that on this night, again due to the location, that three were arrested there.

Only 1.84% arrested and how many were actually DUI , i.e. the old limit of.10??

What a waste of precious taxpayer dollars for lazy law enforcement and Chief Corwin's bonus!!! What a harassment of innocent citizens!!!

I have to say that it's no more harrassment than all the construction delays that I incur daily.

Yes, because construction crews and czechpoints are soooo similar. I hate it when the line-painter makes you pull over and grills you about your activities.... Another fine example of the faulty reasoning of cop worship. Get a clue.

Okay, note to self: When I don't agree with something that's deemed constitutional, reasonable, and permissible, I'll cry. Check. Oh wait, I need to add a touch of drama queen. Czech. Much better.

Checkpoints are only constitutional if they meet certain requirements including an element of randomness.

However, most checkpoints do not meet each requirement set forth by the Supreme Court and are actually unconstitutional. Problem is, there isn't enough complaints from citizens to actually turn this in to a major issue.

Besides the issue of constitutionality, DUI checkpoints are grandiose, excessive, inefficient and costly. Saturation patrols are far more effective and cost far less to conduct.

Did you know that police have a relatively new trick to use in these checkpoints. It is called a "preliminary breathalyzer test". If you pass all their motor skills tests, they "ask" you to take one of these tests and explain that you will not lose your license for refusing to take the PBT. However, they will give you a $150 citation and you likely gave them "reasonable cause" for the mandatory breathalyzer simply by asserting your rights. At that point, it is just semantics. Preliminary breathalyzer tests likely will be ruled a violation of rights due to their being no reasonable cause to have someone submit to them. However, until that day, be cautious of your rights. Oh, and don't drive drunk either, but that goes without saying.

Ryan, welcome to Misinformation City. Population: you.

Welcome to blinding cop worship...not too mention drama queen drew...

Blinding? Tell me how that either makes sense or is on topic, brah. High five on staying classy, though.
