From AP: This Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 picture provided by the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' shows a female cat covered in duct tape from head to toe which was dumped in a yard in the Rhawnhurst section of Philadelphia, but found by the SPCA Tuesday. Medical staff at the Pennsylvania SPCA were able to successfully remove the tape. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the conviction of whoever wrapped the feline. Hat Tip: Many thanks, Keith G in PV!

Why do people want to do these kinds of things to animals? or to children for that matter?
We're supposed to be the superior beings but stuff like this makes you wonder.
If I'm around when someone abuses an animal or a child..... the hospital and police will end up involved.

And someone who does this to animals will likely already or soon will be doing it to humans.
Serial killers are known to start out as killers of animals and work their way to humans.

Very good point golfer. That's exactly why parents need to get some intervention for their child if they catch him/her doing something of this nature. Their clock is off about 3 minutes from the rest of us.

maybe they taped the cat up so he would stay inside the bong.

I taught I taped a putty tat. I did! I did tape a putty tat!

Ceiling cat will shoot them with his laser eyes and they will never be able to hurt another kitteh.

*begins laughing, then realizes it shouldn't be funny to him...* ...ahem. Well, hope they catch who did it.
Posted by: anarchanon | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 09:24 AM
I thinks it's a shame what they did, but it seems more like a stupid prank than the work of a budding serial killer.
Posted by: tomcat | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 09:38 AM
I would never duct tape a cat...
But I've known some cats that would duct tape a human if they could.
Posted by: Jellybean | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 09:43 AM
I dont have much love for cats, but I have a lot less love for anyone that thinks its cool to mistreat animals.
In my book of "Gumpisms", it clearly states: "If you ever see a man kicking his dog, whip his ass on the spot."

LOL @ Justice. I tinkz basement cat is the the one to put a stop to this.
A gratuitous Caturday pic in your honor.
Posted by: JUNGLE JIM | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:12 AM
the cat did this itself. it's trying to frame an innocent human.
cats are evil!
Posted by: aqua | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:13 AM
Hey, Pat - the cop that sees you whip his ass will probably tase you. See, a cycle of escalating violence.
Posted by: Drasil | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:13 AM
LOL, Thats just wrong. How's it gonna go to the bathroom. SMH....what some people do with their time. I can't catch my cat for shit. Thing comes around when it wants to.
Posted by: Tweety | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:47 AM
""If you ever see a man kicking his dog, whip his ass on the spot."" Pat
Dude. That's going to be repeated by me at a later date. 8)
Posted by: anarchanon | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:50 AM
They're supposed to put cats in tube socks...
Posted by: Amy | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:12 AM
Drasil-I can only hope for a canine unit to catch me whipping up on a dog-kicker, huh?
archanon-Feel free to get all the miles out that one that you can!
Posted by: Pat, Sues boy | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:23 AM
aqua-I know!! Cats take bribes from mice and get held next to the bosoms of teenage girls. What a life!

"I thinks it's a shame what they did, but it seems more like a stupid prank than the work of a budding serial killer."
Um, a "stupid prank" that would lead to an incredibly slow and painful death for the cat. The person who did it is a friggin sicko and should be treated accordingly.

Oh hai JJ tnx!
lolz, srlsy!

At least they didn't feed it to an ATM.
Posted by: Sasquach | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:47 AM
you now, i hate cats, i mean really loathe them, but i would never be mean to an animal, and can't understand someone with this mentality, this person would probably end up going to jail in our ridiculous legal system, where i think the best punishment would be to duct tape the crap out of the person who did it, and just see how it feels.
Posted by: rp | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 12:44 PM
That'll prevent those pesky hairballs.
Posted by: cripjak | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 12:45 PM
oh, and of course duct tape their hands in a straight jacket type arrangement so they couldn't get thereself out, and would just have to lay there like a useless moron
Posted by: rp | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 12:45 PM
It's one thing to shave a kitty, but it's another to tape it up. I figure that the Gosselin kitty is heavily taped and glued.

I bet an irate adult neighbor is sending a message about the cat or about the neighbor. Also, it wouldn't be very painful for the cat if a little WD 40 is sprayed through the little straw under the tape. It would come off pretty easy, but it would also require a bath for the cat.
Posted by: Nemesis | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 01:20 PM
we're all joking about it, but if this person is caught they will probably go to jail, that is the sad thing
Posted by: rp | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 01:25 PM
LOL @ anarchanon.
I agree with tomcat--this looks like a teenage prank to me. A budding serial killer would have duct taped it and then tortured it to death.

Really? So you think abusing animals is ok?
That's pathetic....

hahahahahahahahaah, hahahahahahahah, whew, HAHAHAHahahahahahahah!
Posted by: HAHA | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 04:11 PM
Yep, maybe the next door neighbor got tired of cleaning cat crap out of his yard and the mulch around his shrubs? Or tired of having to clean up garbage after this cat tore open the bags at the end of his driveway on trash day every week for 2 years?
Too many pet owners, especially cat owners, are oblivious and inconsiderate of those around them. I don't why it seems to be acceptable to let cats wander, but not as much with dogs.
If you knew where your cat was at all times this wouldn't have happened. This cat and its owner may have been completely innocent .... but maybe not??

Hey good neighbor, you shoot the birds too? How bout them pesky squirrls?
Posted by: 146 | Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 06:23 PM
I'm very surprised that there hasn't been a single hamster comment yet.

When I meet people who REALLY LOVE animals they usually hate people, are very judgemental towards people, or can't relate to anything other than a non person. BTW, your pets are not the same as KIDS, pets will never give you a grandbaby or ask to borrow your car! Let's make a law that allows us to arrest the perps who dress these animals like and treat them like people! THIS POST IS ONLY 1/2 SATIRE
Posted by: Tre Beloc | Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 06:34 AM
Why is it ok to kill a bird, a fish, a cow, etc. but you can't hurt a cat? Because they are domesticated?
I'm not a vegetarian and am disgusted by someone who would do this to a cat, but the question makes me wonder...
Posted by: cac | Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 08:09 AM
Tre Beloc I don't get your post. You don't get what satire is. I have had pets my entire life. I also have kids who are both successful and are college graduates. there are a lot of people in my life that I would do anything for. Even if you were joking there are many people (non-animal lovers) who actually feel that people that love animals are incapable of loving people. That is idiotic.

That is good for us to learn something.many comments I saw almost agreed with you.Good luck in your life.
