Looks like it, sports fans. Longtime readers know that Rhode Island, because of a quirk in state law, allows prostitution as long as it's indoors. Legislators have been under increasing pressure, though, to "close the frontier." As part of the process, several legislators decided to meet with a group of 30 prostitutes. Supply your own punchline here.

A true home-based business that doesn't outsource, and leave to the man to put them down.

I bet the rate of rape crimes will increase in that area.

OK, will there be a program so you can tell...
Seriously, if Walmart could turn a buck on it, it would not only be legal, but there would be tax incentives.

I hope they hold the meeting outdoors instead of behind closed doors.

Is a car or RV considered indoors or outdoors?

Did the legislators want a personal demonstration and where do lesislators get off (no pun intended) calling them prostitutes when they are themselves in a manner of speaking.

The RI legislature better be careful. They might have to convene outdoors from now one.
It is not constituional to create a law banning sex between consenting adults. We cannot call this country "free" with such enforced legislation.

If they outlaw indoor prostitution, then all of the smart businesses will open up prostitution patios just outside for their patrons.

And then we get complaints about gay naked barn dances.

Since politicians are still so busy trying to protect women's sexuality, maybe we could just pass a federal mandate that all women wear chastity belts that can only be unlocked for procreation on a date and time set by the government, after a proper license and tax stamp is issued. Any deviant female could be forced to wear a red letter. Anyone thinking this is a free country where we can do as we want behind closed doors (not naked in a barn) will be chastised with a bed of thorns and leather whip (unless that's something you enjoy.)
