Trials starting in Yearning For Zion case

Jessop

The first of a dozen suspects goes to trial today in Texas, where authorities raided the Yearning For Zion ranch about 18 month ago. (The sect, which splintered away from mainstream Mormonism, was led by Warren Jeffs.) The first defendant, Raymond Jessop, is accused of sexual assault and bigamy after he allegedly married an underage teen. Prosecutors say sect leaders refused to take the girl to a hospital after she had trouble with her labor in 2005 because they were afraid the law would find out. Jessop is 38.

One is surprised that supporters of so-called traditional marriage are out more in force in support of these folks. After all, the oldest existing accounts of marriage are in the Bible's Old Testament, and include plural marriages such as these.

Where are you getting your information? Why would someone that supports traditional marriage support pedophilia?
Why are you trying to blame people that support marriage for the perversions of these few?

"traditional marriage"
One will have a difficult time finding any gate to enter Heaven if they do not approve of plural marriage.

"pedophilia"
The law making the marriage for her age a crime was enacted AFTER. The alleged victim was of legal age to marry at the time. The argument would be that it was not a legal marriage because of bigamy, a charge the state has decided to take up at a later date!

This case is a real mess, from how the evidence was obtained to whether or not Texas would even have jurisdiction for it if it was a crime. There is no doubt that the verdict will be guilty in the court of the same judge that signed the warrant to save the person facing a life threatening situation, the one that called in the hoax FIVE DAYS BEFORE THE RAID.

The same judge that called the CASA of another county telling them to get ready for ALL the children they would be hauling in...

...before they had even went in looking for that ONE female they were saving.

Mormons worship the dollar and play favoritism worse than catholics. Its more of a secret society than an organized religion.

"worship the dollar..."?

You might be confusing the LDS with the FLDS in that statement.
