From Judy Thomas: Independence police are investigating a fight outside a bar early today that left four people with gunshot wounds.
Police responded to reports of a fight outside the Do Drop In, 10520 E. U.S. Highway 40, at 1:15 a.m. Three people were taken to the hospital, and a fourth victim arrived there later. Police said none of the victims had life-threatening injuries. No suspects have been arrested in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
Years ago when I moved away from home one of the pieces of advice he gave me was "Son no matter where you live never, ever go to a place and every city will have one or more called The Palomino Lounge, The Corner Bar and The Do Drop In. Bad things will happent to you." Dad was right.

winder, I agree. The owner now has a certain "clientele" and that is not going to change. He should close down the place and count himself lucky nothing worse has happened.

I live across the UP line from that bar. I was awakened at 105am to 4 gunshots.

It sure isnt the same as when it was Tonahill's....
