4 Wash. cops killed in coffee shop

Polie

The slaying happened yesterday at a coffee shop in Parkland, Wash., a well-known hangout for police officers. A department spokesman told the Seattle Times that it was an ambush because the gunman was targeting police. Authorities are searching for a suspect, Maurice Clemmons, who was also facing a child-rape charge. Clemmons suffered a gunshot wound during the slayings -- it's possible that he's either dead or dying, police say.

This happens just a few weeks after another gunman ambushed two Seattle cops on the job. Investigators do NOT think the two attacks are related.

I don't think the murdered officers families will be sending former Arkansas Govenor Mike Huckabee any fan letters soon.

I don't get your statement cripjak, wtf does Mike Huckabee have to do with this?

Chuck---Go to SeattleTimes.com and read this guys background. He had been convicted of a laundry list of crimes in Arkansas when he was 17 and was supposed to serve minimum 60 yrs in prison. Huckabee commuted commuted his sentence because of a "crimes commited as a youth factor". Then there were a few other judicial screw-ups that allowed him to slip through the cracks and move to Washington State. I hope that helps a little.---Cripjak---

Chuck---

Mike Huckabee, while governor of Arkansas, granted clemency to Clemmons nine years ago, commuting his lengthy prison sentence over the protests of prosecutors.

"This is the day I've been dreading for a long time," Larry Jegley, prosecuting attorney for Arkansas' Pulaski County, said Sunday night when informed that Clemmons was being sought in connection with the killings.

Four people lost their lives and four families are heartbroken right now, along with all of their friends and co-workers. Pointing fingers at people(especially irrelevant people) isn't necessary and doesn't help the situation at all. However, prayer does and my heart goes out to all of those people. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Actually, I think it has a lot to do with it. There has been a lot of debate these days on child criminals and whether or not there is justification for sentencing a juvenile to life in prison. I think the Yea's just got a hand up.

Mike Hukabee issued a statement that if the suspect is guilty of the crime, it was a failure at all levels of the criminal justice system and not his mistake.

Sounds like someone is feeling a little guilty.

Preliminary strike is all. They were coming for him, he decided to get them when they were having a cup of joe instead of them making a political statement at his expense he turned the table on them at their weakest spot ie getting a free cup of cofee to go with their welfare type job. Reminds me of the guy who was walking home through the woods to find two (now dead) detectives watching his windows BOOM BOOM problem solved. There will be more of this as laws become more irrational so to will the response. There is more people in jail in the US then anywhere on the planet...what comes around goes around in a prison state. The sad part is the US is bankrupt and a prison state ...All the players knew the stakes involved...

IF THIS guy was white he would be charged with a HATE CRIME ON TOP OF EVERTHING ELSE

LETS SEE IF OBAMA WILL USE A HATE CRIME ON THIS GUY ..BET YOU DONT HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT THAT IN THE NEWS...

WHO DO YOU THINK WILL BENEFIT FROM OBAMA'S HEALTH CARE BILL THE MOST.
WHITES ______

BLACKS_______
now who do you think will pay for most of this ??

cripjak, if you dont like what you read dont read it... lol pfff you dont have to be smart to know that

cripjak, dont like what you read ,leave !!!!
no ones making you read these post

Sounds like Mike Huckabee has an issue which may keep him from running for President. I enjoy him on FOX, but not in the White House.

What goes around comes around...how many families did these cops ruin with their power hungry ways? How many people did they push around with their badges? This will continue to happen as long as the police keep acting the way they do in our country. How many lives have been taken by police officers from "accidental" shootings.
--Seventeen-year-old Jonathan Pinkerton lies in a hospital bed, paralyzed by a bullet fired by the Chicago police. Jonathan was planning to tour colleges this summer, between his junior and senior years at Corliss High School. On June 11 graduation and the prom were over and he was passing a warm summer evening with his friends at Altgeld Gardens housing project. On that evening, police chased Jonathan, shot him in the back. Then, while he was lying on the ground wounded, one cop knelt on his back while, according to witnesses, another cop kicked him in the head.

Jonathon Pinkerton had no police record. This stands out because in the ghettos and barrios of Chicago, and across the country, many youth are scooped up into the juvenile “justice” system at a very young age. Jonathon’s uncle told Revolution that in the neighborhood where Jonathon was shot, youth are frequently arrested for as little as just being outside. People in the neighborhoods of Chicago told Revolution that police routinely stop and harass young people just for wearing white t-shirts, which are very commonly worn among youth.

Hmm didn't see cnn do a cover story on this one. I guess whenever a cop gets killed we are suppossed to send out our condolences but when a cop kills someone he was just "doing his job". Give me a damn break America and this will continue as long as police continue to abuse their power on a daily basis.

Only an idiot would vote for the bible thumping Huckabee. Obviously he didn't have the sense to keep this black animal off the street. Soon Maurice you will be gone off this Earth.

Maurice may soon be gone from the earth but I suspect the idea of a revolution away from a police state and those who feel a frustrated need to help end it will not. Keep paying your taxes and playing this governments irrational and unsustainable game of incarcerating its own and its overlooked practice of genocide of those undesirables that dont fit in. Hitler would indeed be proud of this counties acheivements. Unfortunately for this bankrupt pig and all who support its strange ways..the game is about over. Long live the constitution.

What the hell is this guy's motif everybody knows there has to be some reason why this guy killed the police officers i mean why why the fuck did he kill them especially like this i mean it had to have been someone who had military or police training because i highly doubt this guy is good with a gun to just shoot them in the head from a distance? How can investigators overlook this? I mean was he standing rite there? If not how far away was he standing when he shot them in the head? He must be one hell of a gunman with lots of experienceto do something like that!

Wow..I see you have been watching a lot of cop shows..where they always win. This wasn't a police stop gone bad. There is no training that covers drinking your free coffee wile a gunman opens up on you sitting at a booth. That would be like shooting fish in a barrel for even a 10 ten year old. Once the police are out of a training situation they are about as helpless as the retards they typically are. If heaven forbid you jumped out of your car with a shot gun and ran up to a police car that just stopped you and shot through the window heaven forbid...you would win every time because there is no procedure for that. Get it? People go down to the police only when they unwittingly participate with the training procedure for that situation. This suspect made a preliminary strike outside the officers training, A high probability for success because there is no training for that.

RK I hope something terrible happens to you and you get shat on by an officer.

Glen---All I was doing was clarifying my post to Chuck Rizzo. He knows that I meant nothing inflammatory by it as we have traded posts before. The second post was copied and pasted from an article in the Seattle Times (which I sent to James) from yesterday afternoon. What issue you have to pick with me I'm unaware of. Perhaps you have me confused with someone else.

Board is a bit of a disappointment today. Too many crazies. How'd this become racial??? We have 4 cops ambushed in cold blood, I don't think race has anything to do with it. We have people who think the cops deserve this. WTF? Who deserves to be shot in cold blood? That's heinous.

My only question is regarding evidence. Yesterday the police said this guy was 1 suspect among many & that the clerk couldn't identify him, now they think he's the culprit??? As in any bureaucracy police work can be poor particularly in a crime of this nature (remember the rush to judgment in the NY gang rape case a couple months back?). Hopefully they were able to recover video tape and this isn't just someone's hunch.

I am an ex Victorian Police Officer from Australia. I would like to pass onto the families and friends of the slain officers my heartful sympathy at their loss. I have lost brother officers in similar circumstances and it is gut wrenching. Be strong, be proud, be vigilant. Always remember these people gave their lives protecting the lives of others. There can be no greater gift. The public owe them and their families an enormous thankyou. Greg

Greg, this isn't China. Obligatory pretenses and canned responses need not be included at this time ...lets see how it ends at least before the great eulogy begins. Your spooking me because you sound like a cut and paste from every such eulogy in this situation. granted the cops are fighting a war as they see it and its no secret that there's is a paramilitary entity positioned by the government. Those who participate know the risk involved and believe in what they do. They could work on cars for a living or operate busses for instance. but no..this is the thing they do after swearing to uphold the constitution. Now I ask you Greg ....Do you think the US is doing a good job following the constitution?

I think all of you, with the except. of ex-policeman, have lost sight of the fact that 4 PEOPLE were killed in a planned execution. NO ONE deserves to die like that. Cops do step over the line but this was an execution, plain and simple. Put yrslf in their place or in the families who mourn. Lets stop the madness.

Yes, I do not condone violence in any situation. Except of course to protect my country and my constituion.

Ken. I have no comment to make on the American constitution as I admit I know nothing about it.I have no idea why you mentioned China. I think you are offthe track a bit Mate. Yes they could be a mechanic or drive buses however if they did they would be dependant on the officers for their protection. Maybe, just matbe they decided to do something for the community rather than be just the community. Mate I apologise if my comments are boring or sound the same as many others. Maybe its because I couldnt think of new words because their have been so many officers killed that there are no new words to use. It is easy to sit on the sideline and criticise the players on the field when in fact you have never played the game. Have a nice day Ken. Bestregards Greg

While I don't worship tax-eaters in government issued costumes, killing anyone in one is just as bad as killing other people; Like the four people shot by a relative in Miami during Thanksgiving.
If caught, the perpetrator should be put on paid administrative leave until a pending investigation to justify his actions is completed at which time he should be restored to duty just like someone in a blue costume would be.

Greg, ignore RK and Dave Ken. The two of them obviously need their meds adjusted.

BTW great job Seattle police in sending this scumbag to hell, where he obviously belongs.

"Four Wash. cops killed in ambush, police say"

Why does the headline read "police say"? Does somebody want us to be skeptical about this?

EZ: I was trying to be careful about the "ambush" part -- that was from a police source quoted by the Seattle Times, but it was also from early in the investigation. I wasn't sure how closely they vetted that part.

Ambush them all! Who care's its time for another system to step in the police system isn't working they cause too many people unnecessary grief and pain. I'm going to go sit in that coffee shop and have a cup of joe as soon as possible.

Did anyone else read Karma's and KD's rants without wanting to go lock their doors?

Seriously, this case underscores the unfortunate truth that nice guys (Huckabee) don't make good leaders...because they're weak.

Well, this will keep happening more and more as people feel more and more oppressed by the police state and want to break the shackles. Better wise up coppers, you're the equivalent of the redcoats for the 21st century.

WTGMRC NUT THERE ARE THOUSANDS STILL LEFT...

God helps those who help themselves..

I love the smell of an English garden on a summer's evening. There's nothing like it - and now I'm getting homesick!

Nothing in the world, that could ever come between us.

Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.
