Christians...

Approximately 82% of Cypriots are Christians. So why do Americans think they need to send missionaries to Cyprus?

To get 14-year-olds out from under their parent's eyes?

while in Cyprus, do as the Cypriots ...

It took more than 2 years to charge him??????? good grief

religion, blah.

Hey, now we know why so many religious zealots do overseas "missionary" duties. Its more like the missionary position.

His new job will be for the prison paper.

Don't you find it amazing how many perverts are big contributers and volunteers in religion? Is it their way of serving penance for the wrong they are doing?

No, its there way of proving that THEY cannot live by THIER own standards. But yet they think thier standards should be the law.

That is not to say that I think a 14 year old should be having sex with a man, but I refer to the Church's strong position on maintaining laws against all forms of consensual adult prostitution.....in fact they would outlaw all sex outside marriage if they could.

They just want all that posterior for themselves, Moral City. Think power games.

Holding the entire Christan religion and all those who are Christians responsible for what one guy does is as stupid as holding all Homosexuals responsible for what a few have done breaking the law. OR holding all Muslims responsible for what one radical does at Fort Hood.
Try using common sense for a change, people.
There is a majority of Americans who call themselves Christan. THE MAJORITY OF THOSE HOLD TRUE TO THAT TEACHING.

Aside from this awful crime by an individual missionary one wonders why these evangelical groups are active in the Republic of Cyprus which is already Christian and one of the oldest Christian societies in the world. Many Orthodox Christians feel insulted by attempts of other Christian groups to convert their believers.

More importantly though is the shameful silence by other Christians about the complete destruction of Orthodox Christian heritage in the Turkish occupied 37 percent of the island of Cyprus. This land where the Apostle Paul preached Christianity has seen it's churches desecrated, destroyed or turned into Mosques filled with illegal Turkish settlers brought in by the Turkish occupation regime.

I think evangelicals need to get their priorities straight and start helping their Eastern Christian brethren to survive rather than attempting to convert them.
