Good morning, Mr. Abbott and fell Costellos. It seems to be Treasure Trove Tuesday. Too many stories to post them all.

Please sit down as you read this. I darn near fell out of the chair when I saw it. Liberals, Conservatives and Libertarians have joined together (I told you to sit down) to fight rampant criminalization in the law. The spectrum of participants range from Edwin Meese (who once called the ACLU the a part of the "criminals’ lobby") to the ACLU at the table, working together.

Saturday was the 3rd anniversary of the killing of Kathryn Johnston, the 92-year-old Atlanta woman shot to death by police officers operating on an illegal warrent. The AP has a somewhat different take here.

From Alabama: Monroe Cty DA: 14-year-old might have helped arrange classmate's gang rape, could be charged. The District Attorney says "I am exceedingly angry, and you can quote me on that." (Maybe he can coach the Lafayette County prosecutor, who has been very quiet.) 3 males have already been arrested and charged.

Well, how about tangentially criminal? The Italian editian of Rolling Stone has named Silvio Berlusconi its "rock star of the year", not for his singing, which is at best Bob Dylanesque, but as a tribute to the P.M.'s "lifestyle worthy of the greatest rock star."

Good morning, cripjak! Welcome to "James Hart's Cat Herding"

Searching, did not mean to ignore you yesterday. Cannot get online much anymore. My kids are nnw 26 and 24. Both have kids of their own. Amazingly, they both still run to Mommy when the real world gets too scary.

Good morning, winkyb2me. My daughter is almost 25...I have no hope of it ending. Was it Cosby that said it's amazing how smart your parents get when you get older, that they go from stupid to smart?

Cat Herding?

Sounds like fun!

Wooo hooo! I'm enjoying my thanksgiving break! Thanks to Hitler who runs my company for being so kind to think about me and my family so that I may spend all sorts of time with them this holiday. Without compensation. So I cannot afford to buy food.

Good morning, all.

Just a letter away from dorks...
Local man charged with 20 felonies. With an arsenal of 21 guns and eight boxes of ammunition, a Kenosha man said he could have shot agents sent to investigate the “world” of child pornography he created in his apartment, a criminal complaint alleges.

But, Kevin M. Derks said, he wanted people to know he chose not to shoot anyone.

Derks is accused of collecting child pornography from paid Internet subscription sites, as well as amassing a collection of child erotica that included more than 100 DVDs, which Derks rated with his own star system.

(It) included poster-sized memorials to at least two dead children, including one murdered by her father. As he spoke of those memorials, Derks “became emotional and asked how someone could hurt children,” the complaint says.

Other posters, printed computer images and framed photos of children in erotic or sexual poses, decorated the walls, cupboards and shelves in Derks’ apartment.

Four mannequins — two adult females, two children — were posed in “tender” positions, the complaint says.

'Morning, R2D2. I'm crazy today...too many good stories out there.

Hi there, Jungle Jim. Thanks (NOT!) for that set of mental images.

Good morning Keith, winkyb2me, R2, JUNGLE, and all to follow!!

Busy this morning aren't you Keith.
Got some reading to do.

And please, I will NEVER be part of a cat herd. Dog pack yes, cat herd, NEVER.

Didn't mean to call you a feline, Golfer. They're just much harder to guide/herd than dogs (my preference by far, too.)

Fandom news at random...
Dolphins criticism deadly for South Bay inmate, deputies say. When state prisoner Willie L. Smith "dissed" the Miami Dolphins, authorities say, it might have cost him his life.

Vincent Lee, 42, is charged with fatally stabbing Smith, 28, of Fort Pierce, in the head with a foot-and-a-half-long "shiv" at the South Bay Correctional Institution on Oct. 16.

The night before the murder, Smith had commented to Lee, "The Dolphins suck."

Depends on where you are herding the cat to..

Good Morning Everyone! Well, I came on into work today, despite the fact I am still feeling a little drunk.. oh, well... should be interesting anyway. LOL

Thanks for the info winky.. it helps to know, who are the people in your neighborhood...LOL
*yeah, I know.. songs in your head now isnt it*

Today is "Treasure Trove Tuesday" when all the good stuff accumulated since Friday afternoon finally hits print.

Here's a cat story for you:
Curiosity almost killed the critter when it wandered into the electrical substation serving the city of Carrollton and tripped a fuse that caused power to crash for some 1,500 customers.

Unfortunately, the cat lived.

Good morning, Searching. Hope you get better quickly. And would you tell us when you're going to hit the highway so we know to pull off the road for a while?

I was a little worried this morning. I was 4min late getting on I-70 this morning, so there was a lot more traffic (yes, I have it down to the minute) So, lots of people on my arse and a tighter fit. I was trying to stay on my game. All I really wanted to do was to go back to sleep.

Good morning, guys!

Good Morning James!

Good morning, James! How's the cat herding business this morning? (Golfer is our resident dog - not a feline)

You know, things have been really good lately. We got some nutballs on the Kennett Wal-Mart story the other day, but they were pretty easy to handle.

Searching: How do you feel today?

I've got to say, James, I was flabbergasted at the "Arrested for Not Tipping" story. Was it a Letter to the Editor that touched off a firestorm of blog debate a year or so ago? It always amazes me - the passion on the sidelines, no matter which side of the field.

I am feeling about the same, just still tired and drunk feeling.. so, around 3:30 this afternoon, steer clear of I-70 East bound from the stadium. LOL

R2 -

I'm not an expert in employment law, but weren't you collecting unemployment before you took this job? Can't you go back and claim unemployement less your earnings if you aren't working a full schedule?

I don't know for sure, but something like that.

Good morning, rhonda and D-man lurking out there.

I'm trying something I hope will cure the lost and delayed postings. 90 minutes and no lost posts so far...

Good morning James!!

Woof, woof!!

Keith, you know how to fix typepad? Hey is there anyway you can make my nick not look so fat?

Morning, Golfer and everyone else!

Actually, I have some good news about Typepad. My editors are very interested in moving to a different blog platform. I guess there was a technical issue while I was off and they didn't have anyone else in house who knew how to fix it because we're one of the Star blogs to use Typepad.

James, here's a 2nd subway story, this time from the east coast. According to the AP, in New York City:

Drifter Dwight Johnson was on the subway with his bag on the seat next to him when another passenger demanded it be moved because he wanted the spot, even though there were plenty of empty seats on the late-night train.

The two argued briefly over the bag before Gerardo Sanchez, an exterminator still in uniform, snapped, police said. He pulled a knife and stabbed Johnson to death in front of horrified passengers on the ''D'' train early Saturday, police said.

James, not to put to fine a point on it, but we were all aware of the problem that happened in your absence lol. I got so much work done that day.

LOL! ROFL! LOL! ROFL! LOL! ROFL! LOL! ROFL!

Search, <~~~does this allow you to feel thinner (1/3 less letters)? Personally, I think you look quite fine. (OK, except when we're arguing. But actually, you can be kinda cute then, too.) If interested, email me and I'll reply with specifics I wouldn't want to share in the blog, or with your hubby!

R2: You should start keeping notes at work, then sell them to the guy who draws "Dilbert." That might bring in a little extra money.

(Not to make fun of a sore situation. I really do hope you get a better gig soon.)

Rhonda. I hope so.. I'm runign to the UI office today to talk to them about it

Is there any articles in the star about the falsified global warming scientist? I cant seem to find it.

A victory for aqua, me and our fellow lewd, crude, loud and licentious buddys. According to the New York Post, Met gal's naked ambition pays off when the Manhattan DA's Office yesterday dropped its case against a woman who frolicked nude for an unauthorized film shoot at the Metropolitan Museum of Art -- and her lawyer says it's because prosecutors feared that moving forward would expose a legal loophole that essentially allows most public nudity.

I think they just exposed it.

Good morning all. Kinda soggy out in my neck of the woods. I hope the weather improves by Saturday!

Good morning to James and his ragtag band of followers.

Search, Get better. Or else.

Keith, in answer to your question, it was Twain who said "When I was 17, my dad was the stupidest man alive. When I was 21, it had amazed me how much he learned in 4 years."

Cosby said flizzle flazzom flop.

Outfoxing Typebad's delayed/lost postings:

Do your normal edit, preview and post.
When it says "Your comment has been posted. Post another comment.", click "Post another comment." The screen refreshes (you may have to scroll down).

My posts have appeared every time over the last 2.5 hours.

Good Morning Jack.. why are we in a Jack mood today?

Hello, Barney and X-raygal and Jack Cass. (Dat chu, Pat?) Thanks for the Mark Twain info.

awesome Keith! :)

good morning everybody!

Searching hope you are feeling better...you didn't give yourself much recoup time. Patty sounds like your Aunt had a wonderful service...one I am sure she would have approved of. R2 I am with Rhonda on this one...seems like they are trying to screw you in more than one way. After reading earlier postings and knowing some posters kids ages already.....several of us have kids in the same age group.
Did anyone watch the music awards on Sun? If so what is your take on Adam Lambert's "performance" ?

Keith, sadly my posts take between 3-7 minutes for me to see.

and I am hitting the "Post another comment" AND when that doesn't work, I hit control-refresh, then wait the 3 - 7 minutes again ...

Sorry about the typebad, aqua. It's been working for me this morning after going thru the delayed post carp again.

Just fyi, I personally prefer being licentious.

I don't like carp either, Keith, delayed or otherwise.
