When burglarizing house, best not to leave homework behind

Two 15-year-old Woonsocket (R.I.) High School students skipped class to burglarize a nearby home.

They made it easy for police to solve the crime. One of the students dropped his homework as they grabbed their backpacks and headed back to class

The boy’s name on the paperwork was familiar to the officers.

Hat tip to cripjak

Why would an aspiring criminal bother doing homework?

Not honor roll material.

* Altogether now, in our best Red Forman voice * DUMBASS

I miss that show. I remember the episode where Red invented the word dumbass.

"That guy is pretty dumb. And, he's an ass. He's a......DUMBASS!!"

Is this your homework, Larry?

cripjak, these days these kids probably are honor roll material.

Why were they released to the parents custody, when the cops knew of them---pretty likely the parents have little control over the budding thug.
