KCK man killed in apparent domestic dispute

UPDATED, from KCKPD: The victim from the homicide that occurred on Monday, December 21, 2009 in the 2900 Block of Hutchings Street has been identified. Wesley U. Smith, black male, DOB 03/24/1956 was a Kansas City, Kansas resident. The victim’s family has been notified.

From Meredith Rodriguez: A man was killed in an apparent domestic dispute in Kansas City, Kan tonight. Police were called to a house in the 2900 block of Hutchings Street on a shooting about 6:40 p.m. They found a man in his 50s dead inside and took a female suspect into custody at the scene.

The incident is being investigated as domestic-related, said Officer Troy Rice of the Kansas City Kan., Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call either the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit at 913-573-6020 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
