Robber sends apology, $50 to store owner

In May, a man armed with a baseball bat tried to rob a Long Island convenience store. Only the store's owner had a rifle. Instead of calling the police or, you know, shooting the guy, the proprietor gave the robber $40 and a loaf of bread, as long as the guy promised to never rob anyone again. (The robber, crying, said he was just trying to feed his family.)

Now? The robber has sent him an apology note and $50. And it sounds like his life is back on an even keel.

Hat Tip: Many thanks, cripjak!

Looks like he did the Christian thing and got the Christian result. Wait a minute...

No good deed goes unpunished.. waiting for the the DA to bring charges.

It's a nice touch and admirable but some DA's are a**holes and at best it will get him a suspended sentence.

Marvin, It doesn't matter what religion a person is. If they believe in something larger than themselves and it makes them a better person, they can worship a tree for all I care.
