In Olathe, two adults have been accused of raping a 16-year-old girl who'd passed out back in August, KMBC reports. Lisa Money and Oneth Savery face several charges. The station interviewed a girl who says she's Money's daughter -- she says the allegations are false.

There's a lot of statements here, but the only factual reference is to the story where she made the accusation. Usually the facts aren't released to the public until the trial to prevent biasing potential jurors.

Well I know the the people who are being accused of this personally so I've heard a lot of the facts and I know with out a doubt that Lisa would never do such a thing. I've known her for over ten years........but what I have heard over and over from a lot of different people is that the girl involved has done this before, actually two times before and the same type of accusations that turned out to be false. So now lives have been ruined all because she didn't want to go home and face her parents for the trouble she was already in. Sooo instead lets make up a disgusting story about two people and ruin there lives and there families.

To assume from less than fifty words on a website that this girl is a harlot or liar is insane! There are details which will not be shared until the trial; even then, there may be facts which are not revealed.
Don't assume this girl is lying. Let forensics and DNA evidence exonerate the accused. These two people are innocent until proved guilty. But the girl should be taken at her word (based on the evidence) and allowed to accuse people she believes hurt her. Sex crime is awful when you are the victim. It does not matter whether she was a "slut, harlot, hussy"... Rape is rape. Having sexual relations with a person too drunk or drugged out to say NO is R.A.P.E. okay?! To those making criminal allegations against this girl, if you have proof of your claims why don't you provide your legal names so you can be held accountable for your criminal allegations against her?

What this feels like is a campaign of witness intimidation and personal attacks so that if the case doesn't end in convictions that people will falsely assume that action is proof that these counter allegations have been proven true when the reality is that criminal cases can easily be dropped or lost when the original allegations are true.

People who seem like decent human beings commit horrific crimes. They shoot others, they rob them and yes sometimes they commit sex crimes.

It's sad that so many who seem to support upholding the constitutional right to "innocent until proven guilty" don't believe in this right when it comes to those who report being victims of sex crimes.

Mirian12, your accusations against me are without merit. I didn't assume anyone guilty in this case or in the Duke lacrosse case. You seem fine with the assumption of criminal guilt as long as the person assumed guilty reported having been raped.

You are wrong in dismissing TooToo's request as not advocating for witness tampering. That request sought direct pressure to be placed on the alleged victim in this case.

This pressure can and does interfere with cases where alleged victims are wrongly assumed to being lying about a report of rape. Excusing it through semantics ("just be honest") is still excusing witness tampering. That you see nothing wrong with this type of witness tampering and may even support it is the problem.

If someone who made an honest report stops cooperating because of this type of witness tampering too often people assume that their assumption of guilt was correct when it was dead wrong and they themselves contributed to injustice.

To all the respondents who slandered the VICTIM on this forum, Oneth Savery was convicted of Rape, Sodomy and Lewd and Lucidious behavior today.

The VICTIM reported the crime to the police immediately in 8/09. Savery and Money were charged when the (Damning) DNA results were reported 12/09.

The Money trial is still to come, expect the same outcome.

These are two sick, opportunistic monsters.

When I heard the news today that Oneth Savery was found guilty of these despicable crimes I felt such a relief for the victim and her family. I have read these slanderous comments and it makes me sick. I do have empathy for the loved ones of the perpetrator but that does not excuse the horrific things he imposed against a helpless, innocent young girl. I applaud her courage and conviction in facing this sick human being. I pray that the many years that he is bound to serve in prison will somehow help his soul change. Neighbor sentenced for raping teen who fled to his house after fight with mom who fled to his house after fight with mom. A drunken, upset Olathe teen got into a fight with her mother and ran into a neighbor’s open garage for help.

The neighbor then told her mother the girl was not there, and he and his girlfriend sexually assaulted her.

A Johnson County judge today sentenced that neighbor, Oneth B. Savery Jr., to 28 years in prison for rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, and lewd and lascivious behavior.

Jurors convicted him previously. A case is still pending against his companion, Lisa Money, 44.

Prosecutor Chris Brown asked Judge John P. Bennett for the maximum punishment of almost 30 years, citing two past convictions that involved threats to women.

In one case, he met a woman at a Westport nightclub and then went to her home and tried to rape her, Brown said.

Then, in August 2009, he took advantage of the young Olathe girl who was drunk, sad, mad and had run away from home, Brown said.

“There is zero, zero mitigation for what he did.”

Defense attorney Carl Cornwell said his client still contends he is innocent. He asked for a sentence of about 14 years. Savery, 43, told the judge he is innocent.

Bennett noted DNA evidence against him, and said, “...the facts show you are guilty.”

Well, the Johnson County Court Records show that the Lisa Money trial was declared a mistrial. Not sure when the next trial will be just yet.

Well, Lisa Money pled guilty today to Indecent Liberties with a Child/Touching to avoid a trial by jury which was slated to start on Monday, February 13th. In exchange, the prosecution dropped the other charges. She will be sentenced on April 14th.
