Cook has been missing since November 2008, and his case was featured this weekend on "America's Most Wanted," Fox 4 reports. He's a resident of Amsterdam, Mo., and had worked at a KCP&L location in LaCygne, Kan. He also did some ranching. The reward in his case now stands at $100,000.
America's Most Wanted says that Equusearch, a nationally known search-and-rescue team, did some investigation in the area, but wasn't able to find anything. They had paid special attention to quarries in the area, working on the theory that Cook might have been killed and hidden in one. The AMW story also mentions one theory from investigators: that Cook might have been the victim of cattle rustlers.
Don Bradley's story from a year ago mentions a different theory:
After more than a month of diminishing hope, she and others now think someone took him out of the house and killed him. Over the years, Cook was involved in several volatile situations, including one in which he received death threats for testifying in a federal fraud case, said family members and others.
