In Louisiana, Mo., a man named Tommy L. Harrison is facing a charge of second-degree murder over the 2008 beating death of Richard L. Marshall. Harrison is black, Marshall was white. Harrison's girlfriend told police that Harrison was upset because Marshall had used the racial slur and because Marshall was at her residence, the Hannibal Courier-Post reports.
