Authorities had planned to try Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and the other 9/11 defendants in a Manhattan courtroom, but there's been a considerable outcry against that plan. For one, there's the safety concern -- the fear that such a trial would be an irresistible terror target. And then there's the cost. Experts believe that providing security would cost north of $200 million. So now the feds are researching other sites.
