"Uncle Ed" Muscare in court Wednesday

For allegedly violating his probation by posting videos on "YouTube." (This report from WKMG-TV in Florida refers to him as "the singing sex offender.") Muscare, who used to be a TV host in Kansas City, pleaded no-contest in 1987 to a sex crime involving a 14-year-old in Orlando. Muscare says he's not a threat and hopes the judge will see that, too.

I remember watching "Treehouse Lane" with this guy when I was a kid back in 1970 or 1971. Later on, in my post-high school years, I watched him on "All Night Live" in 1984-1985. It's really creepy to see where he's gone ... eeeeewwwwww.

So in your opinion all hosts of children's shows are child molesters? Do you think that the guys who are mall Santas are child molesters too? What about elementary school teachers? All molesters too?

I would think that he didn't "choose" to host a kids show, at the time he was pretty much the only talent on staff at 41, so he was assigned to be the face of whatever show they were doing.

I remember seeing him one evening at a strip club on 5th Street in KCK; he had has banana phone with him and was autographing body parts for the girls who were dancing. Definitely an odd person.

No I don't think that all people who host children shows are child molesters. I was just pointing out that if he knew which way was he was wired, and didn't want to victimize a child, hosting a show where he had contact with kids and kids were his primary audience wouldn't be a good place to work. Wow - sensitive crowd today...

To get back to the original article... he admits that he was hiding from the registry (i.e. not complying with a court order) and he admitted that he posted videos on the internet (i.e. not complying with a court order) but he hopes the judge will give him a break. I can't see why a judge wouldn't want to give Ed another chance when he has proven that he will comply with court directives... that he feels like complying with. (Sarcasm noted).

This idiot exposed himself to me when I was 10 years old back in the early 70's. He was friends with my mom and some of her friends, so all their children were easy targets there in Kansas City (around the country club district-neighborhoods). Yeah, he was funny... until he wasn't. It really creeped me out and gave me some permanent trust issues with men (I'm a 49 year old female), But he was an 'adult' and we didn't dare say anything, as he was sort of a 'celebrity' in this provincial little city. What a gross man. I had to see him on TV and around town for years knowing full well he was a FREAK... andI thought nobody knew it but me. How wrong I was!! Many knew... but were too intimidated to speak up. Pedophiles need to be put to sleep--for good!!
