From Olathe PD: The Olathe, Kansas Police Department is seeking information on the whereabouts of a 22-year-old Missing Adult, MICHAEL "BRADYN" FUKSA. How 'Into the Wild' of him....

G: Exactly! That's what I was thinking when I read the release. I Googled him, but can't find any other mention of Fuksa. Might try later. I get the feeling this is an unusual case.

That's exactly what I thought too.

I am the cousin of Bradyn, and I hope for my family's sake that it was an "Into the Wild" -type stunt and that Bradyn is still out there somewhere and will find his way home soon. If anyone has any information, please call the Olathe police department.

I saw the special on ID and was wondering why he was in posession of a 9mm. I haven't seen him but it is good that they are still running it to hopefully get new info on the case. I hope they find him I couldn't imagine what I would do!
Posted by: Kathleen | Saturday, November 06, 2010 at 09:59 AM
Obviously you didn't watch the special on him considering that the first time it aired was tonight, November 8th. All you saw was the preview and if you had watched this evening then you would know that none of us know why. I am his sister and if no one has watched this please do, get the word out and spread the name. We want him home safe and sound, we don't care about the why's or what's...we just want him home. If your reading this Bradyn, I love you and I miss you...please come home.

I cannot imagine the pain that Bradyn's family is going thru...watching the episode of Disappeared twice tonight bc this case has gotten to me, bothers me. I really, sincerely hope that this young man is alright and that he sees all the effort his family has gone to, and realizes that they miss and need him to contact them, come home. I will be praying for Bradyn and for the Fuksa family...If there's anything I can do from here, pls don't hesitate to ask. God bless.

Just watched the episode on ID...it's heartbreaking and I'm praying he comes home soon!!

I watched the last half of the episode tonight. It hits home being the mother of 3 sons 2 of which are the same age as Bradyn. We live in Olathe as well. I will keep him and his family in my prayers. I cannot imagine the pain, longing and uncertainty the family is going through. He sounds like a wonderful young man who just made a mistake. Bradyn if you can read this and you are scared to come home...know that your family and friends don't care about anything you may have done. We all have made terrible choices in our lives and we aren't here to judge. You are loved.

I was hoping this was an old episode and that he would be back with his family. I hope he is back soon. God bless him and his family.

God Bless your family. I watched the ID episode last night... and I could not sleep due to thinking about it. I am a complete stranger. I can only imagine what your family is going through. Have faith.

I wanted to give some information to the family. I grew up in rural Montana. I know that ranchers, in particular, hire help and keep it off the books. They usually have a bunk house where the help sleep. It is a great way to disappear and not be found. If I was in Bradyn's family, I would make personal fliers (not use the police fliers) and send them to feed stores in Wyoming, Utah, Montana & Idaho. Send extras so they can give them to their delivery drivers. Also, send those fliers to grain companies. The reason I would send personal fliers is because a lot of people won't get involved with police issues. I would also find out what the statute of limitations are on felony theft. That may be in play. The fact that he took a 9mm handgun with him would not worry me. If he had a plan to ditch his car and then hitchike, he would need it for protection. I will keep him and your family in my prayers. I hope this information has helped.

I caught this episode yesterday and was deeply saddened by it. I have a 22 year old son that Bradyn reminded me a great deal of. A great kid, that was too proud to tell anyone of a simple failure. I worked as an investigator in the Colorado, Wyoming and Montana area several years ago. With that, I agree that Mary is on the right track on how to establish communication with him. Unfortunately, the statute of limitations does not matter once a complaint has been filed. The detective in this matter seemed like a decent man with a genuine concern for Bradyn's safety. I am ignorant to the procedures of Kansas, but if the family has not yet consulted with an attorney, they may want to do so and see if an agreeable surrender can be worked out with the detective. Being a former Marine and outdoorsman, I believe that he would fair well in the Wyoming/Montana wilderness given his hunting skills, and I have great hope that he is well. Also, there are great, kind people in that area who are always willing to help strangers. I wish you the best and pray that your family will be together again. I still know many people in the Northern Colorado area that would be willing to help in any way that they can. If you would like any assistance, please let me know.

I watched that last night. I have a 21 year old son and I can't stop worrying about Brayden. It just really struck me. I so hope he will go home to his family. They love him so much. We all make mistakes. Such a small mistake compared to some kids these days. I will pray for you to get the strength to return home to your parents that will love you unconditionally-they don't care about your offense. They just want you Brayden-they want you home and safe. I will follow this because I need to know you are ok. You are such a handsome and polite and good young man. I pray that you get home soon-safe to your family who loves you. xoxo

I watched the show last night too, and my heart goes out to his family. Mary is right, it's pretty easy to get "under the table" jobs in MT, WY, and ID. I would take her advice and send fliers out to feed stores, even lumber yards. I am from Montana, and believe me, if you don't want any one to find you...you can most definitely fly under the radar here if you want to, as long as you stay out of trouble!!
Posted by: Shelly | Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 05:41 PM
I hope Bradyn comes home soon. Maybe the show will help bring him home. I agree with Jeff, I felt the detective was genuinely concerned as well. It's baffling that people can just vanish in this day and age. I'll be thinking of Bradyn and his family.

I live in the southeast corner of Washington. Most of the advice I have read is very sound. It would be extremely easy for an intelligent guy like that to make a go of it, especially since he seems like he has his heart into not being found. This really touches me, I have to sons just a hair older then Bradyn. And I must admit I feel I have done worst things. Bradyn's reaction to his mistake I believe shows Bradyn's Character. I would DEFINITELY spend time in that area of Montana and see if I could find anything (especially the forest service and see if anyone has noticed unusual happenings at cabins) . I would say he definitely deserves a second chance but he hasn't really done anything to remove the first one. GOOD LUCK! GOD BLESS!

I don't know if this means anything but thought it was worth mentioning. I came across a hi5 profile for Bradyn Fuksa. I noticed a couple of odd things, he listed his birthday as May 19th which is correct but stated he was 24 years old. My understanding is that he went missing when he was 22. His location is set to Olathe KS although there is one photo on the profile that depicts the shape of the state of Oklahoma. I find this odd considering he lived in Kansas. I'm posting a link to the profile below just in case it may help in some way. I'm not sure if he created this profile before or after his disappearance.

Bradyn and his family is defendantly in our family's prayers, I looked his name up hoping this was a old show and that he was home with him family by now. I was very sad to see he is not home yet.
I hope he can understand that no matter what happened that his family loves him and just wants him home. Seems to me like the police scared the poor guy so bad he felt that he had to run. This story really hit a spot in my heart, I feel for the family and hope they can keep the hope. I have a feeling he will come home, the sooner the better.

I was also touched by Bradyn's story. I just saw the ID episode and decided to search for more information. My brother Ilya also left home in Masachusetts about a year ago and we haven't heard from him since. He was also 22 years old and a very pleasant and likable person. http://projectjason.org/forums/index.php?topic=7481.0 It is a very scary experience and I feel for Bradyn's family. He has also been arrested for minor theft and at time has been delusional about the government being after him. My bother Ilya, possible like Bradyn, tended to blow things out of proportion. I think it is common for young adults to think that they are in bigger trouble than they actually are. I think sometimes boys get overwhelmed with personal problems, they are afraid to share them with their loved ones out of fear of disappointing them or for other reasons, and they chose to flee. I truly hope that both my brother and Bradyn left because they wanted a chance at erasing the past and making a fresh start, finding their peace and happiness. I hope they will get over their troubles and come home soon. I will continue to pray.

Just saw the episode about this on ID. Hopefully this show has given enough coverage to the story that somone will come forth with some information. We are praying for the family and friends involved.

I just watched the show called 'Disappeared' last night on the Discovery ID channel. Here I am googling Bradyn's name and I found this blog. I hope and pray that Bradyn is safe and he makes it back home to his family and friends soon. It's been over a year since he went missing, which means he has had a full year to become the new person he has made himself into. Hopefully he will be spotted and a tip will come in soon. In the meantime, I will pray for his safe return!

Bradyn, just call you parents. It must be awful for them not knowing if you are dead or alive. The theft is NOTHING.... everyone makes dumb mistakes in their lives. Just call home and let your parents help you get it all straightened out. Stop running, and go back to where you belong.
Posted by: Karen | Monday, November 15, 2010 at 06:21 PM
Whew, this is a story (seen on ID, 2x's now) that I just cannot get out of my head...for some reason though in my heart I feel he is out there...I wish for his family's sake (and now everyone whose heart his story has touched) that he has intentions of finding his way back home AND SOON. He will hopefully realize that in no way would anything he has done EVER affect the LOVE within a family and that he would not even face half of what he believed he would...at this point ALL that matters is his safe return home...I pray for your family Bradyn and believe that with your family's continued optimism and with your eventual acceptance of the mistakes that have shaped and strengthened your being (as well as everyone else who walks this earth because we ALL make mistakes), that when the time feels right and you have gained the strength that you have longed and searched for, you will travel homeward and continue your life with the ones who TRULY love and care for you! I look forward to watching the FOUND episode on ID featuring your safe return! Godbless.

I think your parents would just like for you to call them. They won't care about anything else but your safety. A parents love is unconditional. You have a nation of people who only want to know you are O.K....
Please, if you are out there just call your Mom and Dad.
I will pray for your safe return and your safety. The nation is waiting.

I THINK MICHAEL is bradyn trying to throw everyone off with the bad spelling and the locations of where to begin looking. I hope and pray he is ok! he is so precious and i feel for the mother, father, sister, and loved ones. may God's angels be around him and with him every minute of every day and the Peace of God be with the family...and also i hope that all charges get dropped bc sum things in life are more important than always putting ppl in jail! he gave it all back and is obviously remorseful and confused. i hope that Bass Pro Shop or the DA's would consider this in order to bring justice to his family! <3 prayers and thoughts

I just watched the Disappeared special. This is sad. There are some very good comments that the parents should look at and pursue. As a mother, I empathasize with the parent's pain and turmoil. Good luck in finding Bradyn. I feel like he is out there.

I don't know why but this story has haunted me the last few nights after watching it on ID. I am a mother of a 24 year old who eerily resembles Brayden.. I am hoping and praying that he will be found or decide to call his family and let them know he is ok. If he is at all reading these posts I would hope he would see how terribly concerned everyone is and will notify someone and let them know he is ok. The charges against him are very easy to deal with. I hope this has a happy ending SOON.

I too just saw the case on ID.. I know that I may be suggesting what has already been done, but did anyone else notice on the show that there are active rr tracks both in cheyanne & where his vehicle site search happened? a hobo is hard to locate.

I'm so upset by this story and pay to god that bradyn is safe and calls his poor family...I can not imagine what they are going through, they seem like such aloving understanding family and I wish that stupid Bass store didn't involve the cops and just maybe if that was his reason for leaving he wouldn't have..my heart goes out to all Brandyns friends and family.

I watched the show "Disappeared" and it really saddens me.I could understand why he would want to leave but if he only knew that what he did was wrong but not as bad as he thought it would be. He and His family seem to be very close. If he only knew how much everyone wanted him back. I don't believe anything has happened to him. He seems like he would be confused, scared, or humiliated but he probably needed to get away. I hope for his family, friends, and all of his loved ones that he would return home. I'll pray that he returns home. Just don't give up hope.

i watched the disappeared and followed the show information about Bradyn. i just wanted to ask police have they researched the possibility that Bradyn took his parents gun for protection however once he arrived at his destination he sold or pawn the gun. Bradyn, on the surface seem to be a fine young man that created a problem for himself that he simply did not know how to handle however he dont seem to be the type to end his life. find the gun and you might find Bradyn. im praying and pulling for your safe return Bradyn

Michael is young and has his whole life ahead of him. Facing a felony in Wisconsin he also faces no longer being permitted to posses a firearm. Working at Bass Pro he likely was keenly aware of this.
"A convicted felon can purchase a hunting license in Wisconsin, but it is illegal for a felon to possess any type of firearm, including a muzzle loader. A convicted felon cannot be a member of a group deer hunting party, nor may a convicted felon tag a deer in a group deer hunting party."
http://www.vanwagnerwood.com/CM/Custom/Hunting-Wisconsin-Firearms-Felons-FAQ.asp
This in my opinion is why he ran. For someone who is passionate about hunting this is a fate worse than any prison term.
Was there a railway near where his car was abandoned?
I'm terribly sorry for his family, and wish Michael Brayden the best of luck. I wish he could give his folks some comfort but he risks exposure.

This seems like another fugative on the run to me. He stole 3 times and twice from his parents!! I feel he is very wise and had this whole thing planned to avoid jail. Especially, because he fixed his tire then abandon the car later?? Does NOT make sense. Maybe he had a ride planned at that truck stop and parked there to not to be seen on video from truck stop! But, my heart goes out to the family, Bardyn contact your family! And Godspeed!

I really like the tip that was posted earlier about looking in Montana,Wyoming and other states at farms for hired help that's kept off the grid...I was thinking the same thing!!! And doing personal fliers as opposed to police, very smart.
When I was 14 I ran away because I kept getting in trouble, doing drugs, and didn't want my family to have to "deal" with me anymore. I could see how someone would just want to disappear after getting in trouble with the law,you feel over whelmed.may seem silly too some but I have Been there.
Hope bradyn realizes it will all work out and how much his family misses him...like I did.
Your in my thoughts and prayers fuksa family!
