Compared to 18 at the same point last year, KCPD reports. Four of this year's homicides have been solved so far. When you add homicides from previous years that were closed in 2010, the closure rate is 47 percent. The area covered by Central Patrol has seen six homicides so far, compared to three in the East Patrol.
