An Air Force sergeant has been discharged from the military after Rapid City police alerted the military that she was gay. Officers saw an Iowa marriage license at her home while they were trying to arrest the woman's partner. Their department reviewed the incident and feel like officers did nothing wrong by contacting the Air Force. But the former sergeant and the ACLU have filed a complaint against the police.

Of course the fuzz read documents thru an uncurtained window. Certainly they acted without malice throughout the "investigation." And absolutely, the military was totally intelligent in its response.
Even more than the actions themselves, what's disgusting is the lies as to motives and justifications.

I applaud the police and the military for enforcing the LAW. I've had just about enough of the protesting, parading, lawsuits, invasion of our schools, and bombardment of this atrocious lifestyle onto our children through the television and in movies. One day, very soon, the American public is going to have had ENOUGH and they will put their collection foot DOWN! Homosexuals are a scourge on society, a threat to our way of life and a stain on the sanctity of the American family. I look forward to the day when these people get rounded up and herded into camps - with the support of the vast majority of the American public.

so... the lady was uncooperative with the serving of your warrant. that is no reason to out her to the army. it was a mean and very spiteful, childish thing to do. it is your job to serve warrants and such, not ours. i too would refuse to help you do your job, especially when i was at and doing mine. i hope and pray that each and every one of you that were involved in this childish, life wrecking behavior are severely reprimanded up to and including firing from the force. also hope she and a.c.l.u. sue and win a very large settlement from you all.

While I don't care much for gay pride parades, and I'll agree with you that from a purely technical standpoint, homosexuality is an aberration of nature, you have to admit this...since essentially the dawn of civilized society, homosexuals have been present in our societies in a certain small minority.

And I don't believe any amount of societal repression or religious oppression is likely to ever change it.

The prohibition against homosexual conduct is a longstanding element of military law that continues to be necessary in the unique circumstances of military service" And you get bounced out if you engage in, attempted to engage in, or solicited another to engage in a homosexual act or acts.
She did. She's out. That's the law - if you don't like it, elect people who can change the law. Your moronic claims that we can all do what we want are just that - moronic. I served in the army and i always thought Don't ask don't tell was ridiculous. A gay person can take a bullet just as good as a straight person in war. Do you think they have bullets that know who's gay and they don't shoot at them?

Unfortunately the right winged nut cases who always cry so loudly about patriotism don't adhere to this themselves. They long for the good old days when powerful white men ruled the country. (Kind of like the Taliban)I hate to tell them but a change is in the wind. In a few years minorities will be white. "Don't ask, don't tell" is a dangerous national policy. Think about it: If you apply for a security clearance, then you are normally forced to expose all personal details such as sexual preference to those around you, especially to those you would be most embarassed to have know. If there is anything about your personal life that you don't want known, then you're a security risk and a potential blackmail victim. And that's what "Don't ask, don't tell" does to people. It turns them into security risks.
If you're going to allow gay and lesbian soldiers in the military, then there must be a requirement that you are openly gay or lesbian. That's the only prudent policy when it comes to national security.
By the way, it was the military who caused the large concentration of gay populations in places like San Francisco. How? When draftees were ordered to report to such places to be deployed, and they were discovered to be gay, then they were offered two choices: go home in disgrace, or stay in sunny California.
Military experiments produced the psychodelic movement in this country, too. LSD was developed as a mind-control drug that was released into the general population as a military experiment.
Now our government has created a national security issue for our military with it's "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy. Even high-ranking officers can lose everything if the wrong picture surfaces. This policy is potentially very dangerous.

I am a gay female, I am a sister, a daughter, an aunt a niece and a grand daughter. I was raised in a NORMAL home with a mother and father who have been married for 27 years. I have 1 brother and a twin sister. I went to church every sunday growing up I joined youth groups and religious social groups. I am about as NORMAL as you can get. There is no scientific fact to prove "you were born this way", but there is also no scientific fact that proves its an "abnormality". I think some people think if gays are openly accepted they will change the flag to be rainbow instead of stars and stripes. They will have parades once a month and every redneck bar will now condone serving mixed drinks.
