From Glenn Rice: Burrell Mohler Sr., one of six family members accused of molesting young relatives two decades ago, will be tried next year, a Clay County judge ruled Thursday.
Mohler, his sons Burrell Mohler Jr., Roland Mohler, David Mohler and Jared Mohler, and his brother, Darrel Mohler, face felony counts filed in Lafayette County. They are charged with raping and molesting young relatives over roughly a decade beginning in the mid-1980s.
Burrell Mohler Sr. received a venue change to Clay County. His trial is set for Feb. 22, 2011. Darrell Mohler’s trial is scheduled for Sept. 13, also in Clay County.

I hope I pull jury duty...or other people with common sense and an understanding of the law pull jury duty.

This will be a tough case for all concerned. There seems to be an absence of evidence except for the discredited "recovered memories" of the alleged victims. It will be tough for a judge or jury to show the courage to acquit if that is all there is. The real question may be who are the actual victims : folks who are now really convinced that something happened that may not have, the men who may be wrongly accused, or both.
Justice might have been better served by not rushing to judgment (and TV cameras) before pausing to consider the likelihood of false memory.

They actually plan to go all the way with this embarrassment, don't they?

I don't think a change of venue to Clay is favorable.
There are a couple of juxtapositions in my view:
1. No dead fat guy or sex slave.
2. Multiple victims have the same false "recovered" memories?
This case will likely hinge on what Junior said on tape. Don't make your minds up yet.

I think there has to be more atleast some fire for all of the smoke that going on. It may not be a whole forest on flames like they thought, but something was blazing

Lots of times multiple victims share false "recovered" memories. They cross-contaminate, they share notes, they read the same books, they collaborate on what "might have happened" then concentrate on "recovering memories" based on that.
This doesn't just happen with siblings. People in RM therapies who hear of someone elses story will sometimes begin "remembering" having been involved with the same group - even though it can later be proven that they never met anyone involved.
The prosecution is depending on the believability of the accusers. The problem is that people with false memories are very believable because they are not lying. They are telling the truth about things that are not based in reality.

Lots of smoke does NOT necessarily mean there's a fire anymore than lots of poop means there's a pony.

Maybe they are banking on the 2 old ones to die before they reach trial? Nice casework!

I think all the smoke and no fire pertains to what the prosecutors are smoking.
