"A multiplying army of feral felines," as the San Francisco Chronicle puts it, has occupied a hangar that SFPD uses to store old evidence. Nothing has been destroyed yet, though the cats reportedly eat, sleep and defecate near the boxes. It's another black eye for that department's crime lab, which has had to drop several drug-related cases lately. (One of their technicians is accused of snorting evidence.)

Professionalism helps the morale of the officers as well as relations with the public.

I bet there aren't any rodents destroying evidence, now are there?

No, of course not. All those paper document boxes from Staples are completely rodent-proof.
What kind of organization has that much contempt for its own work? We need Hollywood fantasies like Adam-12, Bones, Monk, Psych, and Medium to support the idea that professionalism even can exist in law enforcement. What they're doing is storing evidence that can ruin someone's life and they're not spending the wages for a janitor nor for regular exterminator visits or building maintenance. This is like the self-contempt of someone who chooses to live in trash and rubble.

Exactly how, do you spray for cats, Tom?

With a machine gun, Search!

Searching, that's not much of a zing. Do I actually have to explain that one to you? It's a bit beneath you, isn't it?
Exterminators control insect infestations and small animal infestations. I was mostly referring to rodent and insect control, in the context of the bare minimum requirements of building maintenance. The evidence storage areas in San Francisco are apparently maintained with a great deal of neglect and contempt, when you would think that professional law enforcement personnel would treat them as if a respectable person lived by the proper upkeep of that material.
Law enforcement isn't something that people are working on or with. It's treated just monkey doo that people are throwing at each other. I learned my lesson about taking the "rules" seriously a long time ago when I learned that when I did, I was alone and people would throw them in my face and stuff them painfully up my nether orifice. And the good judgment that I use now is something that they would rip on anyway, so to hell with that too.

I can't agree that I need to get laid. This is supposed to be a family friendly blog.

Folks there is something wrong with San Fran and Ca in general. They operate on a level that you would not believe if you did not see it with your eyes. Politicans and police are just bad. Newpaper is just short of a communist rag. I am going in the fall to look at the monkeys running the zoo, go figure.
