Last month, a Springfield man was accused of burning down his home, killing his girlfriend's three children in the process. Prosecutors have dropped the charges, though, because lab tests couldn't find any accelerant on the man's clothes or from the scene. A fire marshal's dog, trained to detect accelerants, had signaled that it had found some.
