Leavenworth police have been looking for a man who found $1,460 lying in a grocery store's parking lot -- and didn't report the find to authorities. The police told local media that he could be charged with a crime. Now the man has turned over the money, and there'll be no charges, Joe Lambe reports. (The guy who lost the cash didn't want to press the matter.)
Leavenworth Police Maj. Robert Smith said Wednesday that the man who picked up the money was unemployed then and used it to pay bills. He then got a job and saved from his paycheck to pay the money back, Smith said.
