CQ Press -- the outfit that regularly ranks U.S. cities and states according to crime statistics -- has released the 2010 version of the list. Nevada has the worst ranking, New Hampshire as the best. Missouri was No. 19, and Kansas was No. 24. The rankings always rankle law enforcement, who say they're comparing apples to oranges. The publishers respond here.
