It's been five years since Kikilia Morton and Marco Summers were killed in the 11600 block of Bennington, in south Kansas City. Police found them in a truck that had crashed on March 11 of that year; someone had apparently fired upon them, though it's not clear why. Morton, 21, and Summers, 33, had been dating a few months. He died at the scene, but Kikilia wouldn't die until a few weeks later, on May 6, when she passed away at a rehab center. So far, nobody has been charged with their deaths.
Kikilia, who attended Ruskin High, is survived by a daughter, who's now in elementary school, her sister says, and the little girl looks just like her mother. "She's like her twin," sister Malekia says. Kikilia was the oldest of four siblings. Her family is now taking of Kikilia's daughter.
Her loved ones are asking anyone who might have information about the homicides to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477) or Ad Hoc's Hotline at 816-753-1111. "We want her to rest," Malekia says.
