Metro Squad looks into clerk's death

About 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police found the body of a clerk lying behind the counter at the Grovenberg liquor store, 7635 Quivira. The authorities haven't said how the man died and are listing the case as a suspicious death, but since the Metro Squad has been called together, the safe bet is that it's homicide. We're still waiting to hear the victim's name; authorities are making sure the man's family has been told first.

This is the second time in the last several weeks that Metro Squad detectives have worked a homicide in Shawnee. The previous one involved Curley Tyler, a man shot to death outside his apartment complex on Easter morning.
