Woman critically hurt in KC mugging

From Mara Rose Williams: Kansas City police are looking for two men in connection with a beating and robbery that has left a woman hospitalized and in critical condition.

Police were called to a parking lot near 6200 Main Street in Kansas City about 3 a.m. Friday and found a 25-year-old man with head injuries, who said he and a friend had been robbed and beaten.

Nearby, police found a 21-year-old woman unconscious and with severe head injuries from an apparent beating.

Police were told that the man and woman had been kicked, stomped and beaten in the head with handguns by two men who robbed them.

The victims were taken to an area hospital. The man was treated and released. On Sunday, the woman remained in critical condition.
