KCPD to target jaywalkers downtown

KCPD is putting extra officers downtown this week for an enforcement campaign aimed at pedestrian safety. The officers -- some of whom will be in plain clothes -- will be looking for jaywalkers and drivers who fail to watch out for pedestrians. The campaign will run through Friday. The police did something similar last fall during a Catholic youth conference.
