Last week, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon signed legislation that outlaws full nudity and alcohol at strip clubs -- and a legal challenge is expected within the next week or two, Jason Noble writes. The new law, which also targets adult bookstores, would take effect Aug. 28, unless the judge issues an order blocking it until the issue gets resolved. Peter Rugg at the Pitch has a history of the issue here, as does Tony Messenger at the P-D.
The law includes other provisions, such as age limits and a rule forcing such businesses to close at midnight.
We had a post a few months ago asking whether strip clubs attract crime.
