Because she didn't have health insurance, a Michigan woman concocted a plan to force doctors to fix her sprained shoulder: She shot herself, police say. In the shoulder, specifically, thinking that doctors would be forced to patch up the sprain at the same time. Sadly, they did not. It's not clear yet whether the woman will face criminal charges.
Sober for seven years, she's thinking about having a drink.
"Jack Daniel's is sounding mighty tasty right now," she said.
"A Michigan woman ..."

What an idiot. It would've been easier to stage a fake car accident, and then her car insurance would've paid the medical bills...assuming that she has car insurance.
