6 taken to hospital after U.S. 71 crash

Six people were badly hurt this afternoon when a man in a stolen car drove the wrong way onto U.S. 71, Kansas City police said. It sounds like everybody will live, but if you check out the photos, it sure looks like a very near thing. The suspect was in Raytown, but under surveillance by KCPD. They say he was breaking into a car when he bolted. Police weren't following him on the ground when the wreck happened, but a police helicopter was tracking him from the sky, authorities say.
