Joe Lambe has a piece about a Fort Leavenworth military prisoner, Michael Fricke, who died after he was attacked with a baseball bat. (His family agreed to remove him from life support on Thursday.) Fricke was supposed to be released next month after he'd served 16 years for the murder-for-hire slaying of his wife, Roxanne, in Virginia Beach, the Virginian-Pilot says. The paper has a statement from the dead woman's mother:
"All we can say is God takes care of everything," Wade said. "Maybe not the way we want it to be taken care of. But I did not want him to walk outside prison walls."
