From Bob Cronkleton: Police have one person in custody and are looking for the alleged gunman following an early morning shooting in Parkville that left a teenager dead. The fatal shooting occurred about 1 a.m. near Missouri 45 and Missouri 9.
A 17-year-old boy was driving a black Ford Thunderbird with a passenger east on Missouri 45 when a red Ford Contour approached from the north on Missouri 9.
As the car turned west onto Missouri 45, a rear passenger fired a shot from a rifle. The single shot penetrated the driver’s side door, striking the victim.
The passenger guided the car around the block and back to the nearby Price Chopper grocery, where police were called.
