From Tony Rizzo: A woman was shot in the back of the head late Wednesday night when someone fired shots from outside her apartment in the Northeast area of Kansas City.
The 22-year-old victim was taken to the hospital and listed in serious but stable condition, according to Kansas City police. Officers were called to the 300 block of North Gladstone Boulevard shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after someone reported hearing shots fired.
The victim told police that she was inside her apartment when she heard the shots and then felt a sharp pain in the back of her head.
Police said no suspects were in custody.
