From Tony Rizzo: An 18-year-old was shot to death late this morning while sitting in a car near 72nd Street and Brooklyn Avenue.
Kansas City police have not released the name of the male victim, who was shot in the head about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses told police that they saw two men walk up, fire shots into the car, and then leave on foot.
Two men stopped nearby were detained briefly, but they were released after witnesses told police they were not the suspects.
