Leavenworth woman shot while answering knock at the door

From Bob Cronkleton: A woman who had gone to answer a knock at the door was injured early this morning when a gunman fired multiple shots from a shotgun into a Leavenworth house.

The 36-year-old woman was hit in the lower back and her legs when the gunman fired the unknown size shotgun, according to Leavenworth Police Maj. Robert Smith. The shooting occurred about 2:10 a.m. at a house in the 1700 block of Second Avenue.
