Three young men were killed this weekend in a room at the Red Roof Inn located at Interstate 435 and Missouri 210. The Metro Squad is looking into the slayings of Dejan Joksimovic, 18, a senior at North Kansas City High; Armin Hamidovic, 18, and Delfino Elizondo, 22. As I write this, police have released a basic description of what led up to the fatal shootings.
Apparently, a group of about 15 people had been partying in Independence and moved to the motel room:
Investigators had no theories Saturday afternoon as to what triggered the slayings. “We believe that alcohol and marijuana were both elements in this,” Boydston said.
As the shots rang out, all three victims slumped inside the hotel room.
At 3:19 a.m., a caller told a dispatcher that there was a large group of people and a “disturbance” inside a second floor room at the Red Roof Inn. Clay County sheriff’s deputies found the two slain teenagers, as well as the wounded man.
As always, anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
