From Joe Lambe: The mother of an Overland Park man shot by a Tonganoxie police officer does not fault authorities for wounding her son.
“They did their job and they did it right,” Velda Roberts said today. Police shot Jeff Roberts, 33, about 1 a.m. Thursday outside his mother’s home in Tonganoxie.
Her son is still in a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. A police officer is on routine paid administrative leave while the case is investigated.
