Police board starts looking for new KCPD chief

Christine Vendel has an update about the process here:

The selection process to find the next Kansas City police chief will begin in late June and include four public meetings, the police board president said Wednesday.

So far, only one of the deputy chiefs, Darryl Forte, has confirmed that he'll be applying. The board is promising to conduct a nationwide search for a replacement.
