Police: 'Grandma Bandit' was actually male, dies in Georgia shootout

The suspect's name is Roxanne Taylor, 57, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. It's not clear if Taylor was transgendered or lived as a woman -- I couldn't find any articles that explicitly spelled that out. Taylor was accused of knocking over a string of pharmacies for little better than pocket change.

At least one teller said the robber claimed to have terminal cancer, which police haven't been able to confirm. If it's true, though, it might give a little insight for why Taylor might have committed robbery.
