Three dead following weekend shootings in KCMO, KCK

Local police are working a series of shootings from late Saturday and early Sunday. In Kansas City, four people were hit by gunfire near 27th and Askew late Saturday, and one died. As I write this, another is in critical condition.

Meanwhile, across the state line, KCK police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 1400 block of North 38th Street. Another person was shot near Mill and Montana about midnight, though his injuries are serious and not critical.

And later Sunday morning, about 11 a.m., a man in his 40s was fatally shot in the 1100 block of North 34th in KCK. A second person was injured there, but is expected to live.
