KCPD identifies man killed in gunfight with officers on Thanksgiving

From Mara Rose Williams:

Kansas City Police this afternoon identified the man officers shot and killed Thanksgiving night outside a house in the 6600 block of Bellfontaine where the bodies of two women also were found.

Police said 64-year-old Jerry Petty, who reportedly worked for Habitat for Humanity, was killed by police after he came out of the house firing at officers.
