'You don't know them, so why care about hurting them?'

St. Louis police have been investigating a bunch of assaults related to the "knockout game" -- wherein young people chance upon innocent bystanders and beat the hell out of them for kicks.

Another kid was charged Tuesday, the Post-Dispatch reports. The P-D had a good editorial piece about it a few weeks ago:

Sure, the kid said, he knew he could hurt somebody. But he added, "You don't know them, so why care about hurting them?"
