Dominique Henderson was only 12 years old when he was murdered in June 2005 in his back yard at 33rd and College. Dominique had just gotten from a nap and gone outside when he was murdered -- he'd wanted to know what was for dinner.
Unfortunately, that's when a group of gang members decided to open fire on his house -- some of their rivals had been hanging out on Dominique's porch. I don't know if you remember, but 2005 was a particularly bad year for KCMO homicides, and this case outraged the public.
Yesterday, James C. Martin, 20, received a 28-year sentence for his part in the slaying. Mark Morris has more here.
