Great pains taken over sole surviving Mumbai terrorist

Indian police went so far as to keep him his underwear so that he doesn’t try to choke himself by eating his clothes.

And in another story....

Truth Serum may be used to get answers out of him.

"While it sounds like something that only exists in bad spy flicks, or in the pages of a Harry Potter volume," the columnist writes, "administrating truth serum, or narcoanalysis, is an actual technique used by Western intelligence agencies during the Cold War."

Molester hides out in Grand Canyon

Grandcanyon After he skipped town last month, convicted molester Joseph Schwartz found an unusual place to hide: the Grand Canyon.

The Parkville man pleaded no-contest to accusations that he molested a girl in 2000 and was found guilty last month in Douglas County. He was out on bond until his sentencing in late March, but he failed to surrender to authorities.

Schwartzjoseph1 On Monday, the U.S. Marshals Service started looking for Schwartz, said Matt Cahill, who heads up the fugitive apprehension task force at the Kansas City, Kan., office. In their investigation, they learned Schwartz had bought a 29-foot-long RV and was probably headed for the Grand Canyon.

Marshals from the Flagstaff, Ariz., office started searching the park two days ago, with help from park rangers. They found Schwartz about 3 p.m. Friday and arrested him without incident, Cahill said. He had been camping in a wooded area away from other campers. With him was a woman who said she didn't know Schwartz was a wanted man.

Federal charges will probably be filed against Schwartz next week, Cahill said. (Photo of Schwartz via KSHB.)

Police: Fleeing suspect had crack pipe

From Kansas City police 4:10 p.m.:Anthony_sesto

  • The man who was shot by a Roeland Park, KS police officer has been identified as Anthony T. Sesto, white/male, 09/03/1960. Mr. Sesto has an extensive criminal history and had an outstanding warrant from the city of Olathe, Kansas at the time of his arrest.

After the vehicle stopped, Sesto fled on foot to the rear of a house near 51st and Garfield to Euclid. The officer ordered the man to stop. As the man neared the fence in the rear of the residence, he began reaching toward the inside of his coat and his waistband area. The officer told the man to show his hands. The man turned suddenly toward the officer and the officer fired one shot striking the man. After being shot, the man jumped over a fence and tried to flee from the officer again. After the man jumped the fence, the officer saw the man throw something that was later determined to be a crack pipe. Kansas City officers responded to the scene after the shooting and took the man into custody. The man is expected to recover.

KC homicide fugitive arrested after 9 years

When Los Angeles police entered an apartment building Wednesday, a Jamaican national long sought by Kansas City authorities jumped out a window.
Police chased and caught Warren Price, who is wanted for allegedly killing two people in Kansas City in 1997.
Price is accused of being involved in a Feb. 13, 1997, attack in a home in the 3800 block of Montgall Avenue. Intruders killed John E. Bonner and LaKesha N. LaMaster and wounded another woman.
According to detectives, the victims were mistakenly attacked after two juveniles stole $70,000 from a drug house and took the money to the Montgall home to split it, even though neither of the juveniles lived there.
The angry drug dealers forced their way into the house and opened fire. The  juveniles were not there.
