What do you mean this $10,000 bill is fake?

Tellers at a Lowell, Mass., bank had no problem spotting the conterfiet $10,000 that a woman brought to the bank Tuesday Morning.

Afterall, the bill hasn't been printed since 1934. There are only about 300 of the bills left, mostly in the hands of collectors.

Michael Gallagher, risk-management director at Enterprise Bank in Lowell said:

It is really unlikely we would see one in Lowell. It raised red flags very quickly. It was an easy catch.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski spent some time in the jury box at Saline County District Court Tuesday.

Dressed in full uniform complete with his weapon, Kochanowski answered attorneys' questions to determine if he would be a good juror to hear an aggravated battery case.

Apparently go for an early morning swim in a nearby canal. At least that is what Pat McAfee with the Indianapolis Colts is accused of doing. Needless to say, alcohol was involved.

His explanation to police on why he was found soaking wet? He allegedly told them it had been raining. Must have been one of those isolated showers because it didn't rain anywhere else in Indianapolis.

Update: Former JetBlue flight attendant pleads guilty

Remember the flight attendant who was so frustrated with passenger that he got on the loudspeaker, cursed at passengers, then slid down the plane's emergency chute with a beer?

Well, he pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted criminal mischief, a felony. Steven Slater is to undergo at least one year of counseling and substance-abuse treatment.

Wichita man sentenced to 90 days in jail for animal cruelty

Oklahoma authorities found more than 100 emaciated pit bulls on a farm Jerry Southern rented.Initially, Southern faced 70 counts of animal cruelty, but he reached a plea agreement.

In addition to the jail sentence, the 33-year-old was ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to three animal-rights groups.

Kelly Beemer's fellow officers were trying to get her home after she had too much to drink. Beemer, who had been dating one of the officers, became distraught and pulled a revolver from her ankle holster. She fired into the floorboard.

Close to 100 Texans arrested for mortgage fraud, financial crimes

A nationwide crackdown on mortgage fraud and other financial crimes has led to the arrest of 92 people in Texas.

The U. S. Justice Department said that since March, investigators have arrested nearly 500 people nationwide during what is called Operation Stolen Dreams. The crackdown involves 1,215 criminal defendants in cases that uncovered more than $2.3 billion in losses.

A Cincinnati woman has sued Procter & Gamble, claiming that their new Pampers with Dry Max technology chemically burned her toddler.

"It can't be described as a rash," Blank said. "It actually looks like burns on his bottom. It was blistered and bleeding, the worst I've ever seen."

The new diapers were marketed as thinner and more absorbent.

Criminal investigation underway into paramedics who refused to take child to hospital

Paramedics refused to take Stephanie Stephens, 2, to the hospital on Feb. 10, telling her parents to place her in the bathroom to inhale steam from a running shower. Hours later, paramedics were called again to her home. That time, they took her to the hospital.

She died the next day.

Attorney offers to work for free to appeal order in case involving duck's death

A Worcester, Mass., attorney says he will work for free to appeal a judge's order overtuning the conviction of a man who ran over a duck in a mall parking lot.

The district attorney originally indicated that financial constraints prevented him from appealing the judge's order overturning the conviction of Joshua Linhares, 26. Attorney Darragh Keith Kasakoff, who has extensive appellate, said he would handle the appeal for free.

Prosecutors had argued that Linhares intentionally ran over the mother mallard duck as she crossed the mall parking lot with her 12 duckling. (Video of alleged crime on link)

Update: Man sentenced for impersonating police officer on date

Remember Aaron Walton? He's the man accused of impersonating a police officer while on a date back in September.

Walton was convicted Wednesday of one count of battery and two counts of impersonating a police officer. He was sentenced to a year's probation.

Police release 911 call from the manager of the Macomb, Ill., Farm King store where a 19-year-old opened fire with a AR-15 semi-assault rifle.

The shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Illinois man allegedly used Facebook to threaten ex-girlfriend

Christopher J. Bensfield, 19, of rural DuPage County, Ill., allegedly threatened an ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend on her Facebook account.

Even though she asked him to stop sending threatening messages that he was going to kill them, Bensfield allegedly continued to post the threats.

Grandmother found safe after grandson allegedly kidnaps her

A 75-year-old grandmother from Ohio who was kidnapped Thursday has been found safe at a Chicago hotel.

Chicago police have arrested her grandson and three others. The motive is said to be unclear, but might have involved a family dispute.
