Being caught on camera doesn't necessarily mean a ticket

Running a red light and being caught on camera doesn't mean you will automatically get a ticket.

Police are willing to give drivers a benefit of the doubt if it is close. In 57 percent of the time, drivers who blew through red lights did so without consequences, a KCTV5 investigation found.

But as  Capt. Rich Lockhart of the Kansas City Police Department points out:

"The best thing to do is just to stop. Not only is it safer, but it will save you a lot of money."
