Executive set to stay at ABC Jamie Tarses says she enjoys network, contrary to rumors.

LOS ANGELES - ABC Entertainment Division President Jamie Tarses
on Monday responded to reports that she is on her way out after just
one year on the job. She told reporters she is having a "great
time" and will not be leaving the network.
Tarses' comments came after a month of behind-the-scenes
wrangling over her future, which Tarses on Monday called "truly
surreal."
In June, ABC announced that Stu Bloomberg, 47, a veteran of the
network, would be named the division's chairman, essentially
supplanting Tarses, 33, as ABC's top programmer. Tarses, the first
woman to hold that position at any major network, has been the target
of a widespread whispering campaign among producers and studio
executives in Hollywood who have clashed with her.
On July 13, a New York Times Magazine profile of Tarses appeared
in which the reporter was allowed to listen in on phone conversations
between Tarses and Michael Eisner, the head of ABC's parent, Walt
Disney Co., without Eisner's knowledge.
One published report last week even suggested that Tarses
violated Disney policy in cooperating with the reporter, meaning
Tarses could be fired and not paid any severance money.
